The Reaping;


I researched into The Reaping and then i watched the title sequence. There are a lot of hints that death, blood and torture is going to be in this film as it is dark, and blood appears frequently and increases. i watched closely to find some interesting hint that are indicated in the title sequence. Here are some of the notes i noticed.


Sound:
the music throughout the title sequence was slow and built tension. Also it was quite creep and made you feel cold. Violins make the music seem more interesting as it is nice but on the other hand it is quite creepy and makes you feel quite intimidating and worrying. The sound makes it more realistic which will make the film much scarier and frighten people more.

Lighting:
most of the title sequence is black and red, this symbolises blood and death, this makes it more scary and nerve racking. The red then turns into splatters of blood which indicated death and torture. The blood splatters about which makes it look like a increasing amount of death is taking place and the death isn't pleasant. Throughout all of the title sequence it is always dark colours this shows that the film isn't happy or romantic it is always gonna be about death and torture.

Mise En Scene:
Leaves flutter around the screen, this symbolises loneliness and lost, this shows that there is going to be frightening scenes and torture in it which will make the audience jump. Black hair also appears several time, this shows that their is going to be jumps scenes and it is going to be realistic. cartilage is also seen, this makes it more real life and will be more gore in the film which can be found as disturbing scenes. Snake skin is also seen in this clip, this gives me the idea that animal are going to be present in the film, and it shows that people are going to be feeling threatened by things because most people are afraid of snakes especially big ones. Another animal which is a frog is shows, this is showing that there may be change in this film and short lives for people as frogs don't live long. On the other hand there is a moon, in my opinion this shows hope and a light for someones life, this is giving off the message that someone may survive and fight off the thing that is killing people.

Editing:
The editing is really fast, this shows panic and fear. The words come on the screen slow but the images are fast, this shows that jumping scenes are going to be present. During the end of the title sequence the editing gets faster this indicated that towards the end of the film it is going to get more action and thriller involved and the scenes are going to bring more fear and panic.


This shot is of the leaves that are moving slow and also that symbols loneliness and fear. The colour shown are black and red and some orange this indicated blood and death is going to occur and also the films is going to be creepy. Also the scene seems empty this also backs up the loneliness.

This shot is of the moon which symbols that hope is ahead and someone is going to see the brighter side of life and maybe survive what ever is bringing death to the people. But like the other shot it is empty and only has one image showing and it is still small. Which indicated loneliness still.



This shot is of blood splatted which shows that the film has blood and gore involved in it. This also means death is involved and maybe torture. Even though the background is white it is still dark and creepy.




I think this shot is really creepy as it looks like hair but it doesn't in some weird way. It look like black hair and it is dark like every other shot. This shot makes you think as it doesn't look like human hair so it makes you wonder what is actually is. This makes it more exciting to find out.
