Evaluation Q7 Emily

7- Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression form it to the full production?

-I believe I have made a good progression from our preliminary exercise than to l’our full film. This is because our preliminary exercise was simple and the shots we used weren’t difficult as the one we used in our film. We only used several shot in our preliminary exercise like, 180 degree shot rule, match on action and shot reverse shot, these camera angles we easy for me to do and I did them really well. But in the actually full film we used shots like, Pan, Medium long shot, Long shot, zoom, close up, and medium close shot. These shots were much more difficult but I did them really well. Also this full film we did lasts longer than the preliminary task so I believe we had more pressure on the full movie, so we had to look into shots in other films more to make it look as professional as we could.

2) I have used a different camera shots like pan as I moved the camera side wards to follow the actors. Also I have learnt how to make I film look better and the genre we wanted it to, which was horror, as it was dark and filmed in a creepy place, we did this by looking up different films. Also I learnt that using props during a film could make the film much better and make it more interesting for the audience to watch.

3) I have got better at shots and using more shots, also I have got better at choosing shots for a certain scene to make it look better and match the genre we want in this case it was horror. Also I have learnt that working with people we don’t know it really good as we all worked well and they was really good at acting because we didn’t make one another laugh. If we worked with people we are close friends with we are more likely to get embarrassed and therefore do something wrong whilst filming a shot and this would take a lot of time and could make the film look worse.

4) I have used different shots, cinematography and editing which I believe has made me more aware of using a camera and making the best film we can. Also I have learnt that looking up films and how they used there shots and made the film look good and match the genre and use this to interpret our film and add them to our film to make it look more professional and make the audience aware of what our film is about.

Evaluation question 7

Before we started doing practical work in media we lacked the skills we would need to perform the task for the 2 minute film, this Is why we believed that the preliminary task was so significant in giving us experience with the camera and using different shots during its creation, we had to make sure all the shots had continuity and that we were prepared before we started doing the actual shooting of our final film, from this task we learned how to use the cameras basically and we also learned how to prepare each shot in order to film it, we learned key things such as starting to film a clip a few seconds before and finishing a few seconds after in order to ease the process of editing the film and being able to make it look smooth and make sure the film was long enough for it to not look unnatural and amateur.

We also had brief experience in acting as we had to perform during the task; we used different shots such as over the shoulder shots and made sure the 180 degree rule was in place. This helped us progress and learn new skills we would essentially need for the film. When we went to film our group knew how the cameras worked and the best positions for each shot and the duration the shot needed to be, using the tripod we were also able to incorporate new shots such as a pan shot which looked really good in our opening scene. We positioned the camera in a good position where all 3 characters could be seen easily and could be followed down the driveway for our opening scene which we believed looked really good as an introduction to all the different characters names and the title of the film.

When we proceeded to the scenes in the woods we used our experience and made it so the camera was stable in position and would not shake or move to distort the video we were creating from these scenes, we made sure there was sufficient light as we were taught this would be key to film in dark places and make them look good and still be able to see the characters clearly even in pitch black conditions which a lot of our shots took place, to do this we had to use what we learned from both our tutors and experience doing other tasks to be able to make our film, as we believe, a success.

Evaluation q5

7. looking back at your preminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?
My progression throughout the formation of my final film from the simple preminary exercise was quick and improving fast, as the shots I used within the preminary task weren’t as tricky and difficult as some of the shots and effects we chose to use within our film ‘Slender’. Our preminary exercise was to film someone walking into a class having a conversation and walking out again, and in comparison to that and Slender I feel I have improved vastly as I am more aware of the camera use and I now know more ways to shoot different shots and the different methods of doing so. We had to make sure we included certain types of shot in which include\: shot-reverse-shot, 180 degree rule and match on action. We carried out all three of these within our preminary exercise and our three minute film too. We looked through different most used shots within horror films and we included: zoom, long shot, close up, medium close up and pan shot, in which during the preminary exercise we wouldn’t have been capable of carrying out.

I learnt how to use a camera properly and the three vital shots correctly; therefore I used this as a starting base and gradually got better and more aware of other shots from that point. I believe I have got better at using the camera as I have already stated, using different shots and the different types of focused you can do with the camera; in Slender we included the ‘shallow focus’.

We have used many different shots, editing and cinematography methods in which I believe have helped me as a learner improve on my awareness of a camera and the ways in which it can be used. I became more involved in different groups with people I haven’t necessarily worked with before and I have got to know them better.

Evaluation question 2

In our film we have used the stereotypes of films of a horror genre using sounds and our location but our cast was not that that may be have been expected as all our cast was male which showed them being independent at first and confident about what they were doing but were shown to fear and be challenged by one mysterious character, also as all our cast are young boys it possibly shows how they were deluded into thinking they could go through the nice peacefully and without any problems. We represented our characters to look confident and cocky through the first scenes of our film to contrast against the film at a later time when the characters are scared and vulnerable. To show this we used lights that only concentrated on their face, we did this to make them look as if the pressure was on them and they were alone, and vulnerable in a dark mysterious background. We used a low angle shot on the first scene as this was when they were most comfortable and confident about what they were going to do, this then changed as we made the camera angle seem more even further throughout the film to show they were not as comfortable in these surroundings and the situation the characters were in.

Evaluation question 1

Our opening title sequence is very much that would be expected of our chosen genre, it is using dark colours, a contrasting title and lights towards the camera which look good as they shake towards the camera and look like fear is present in the film which is something we have worked towards as a horror genre. The music also contributes with these factors, we used 2 screeches, which are also shocking, which is also an element we want in our film or a fear of the unknown character within the film.

If our 2-minute film were a full film it would be a non-linear narrative due to this clip, it would be used as a flashback and would show earlier events before the killings present in the 2 minutes. Would show other events the mystery character had committed and earlier events the main characters had come across. Due to our chosen genre being a horror we tried to incorporate the elements associated with horrors, we made sure they were present in our film, examples of this is the fact we filmed at night, we filmed our film at night in order to create more fear as some people have a fear of the dark, and it also adds mystery and the anonymous character is not easily seen in the darkness.

We used a range of shots in order to create a certain effect; we used a level framing shot to show that it was a normal situation with no certain person being in power or more significant than the other. As the film progressed we varied the height of the angles, there was a switch of power as the mystery character appeared throughout, there were more high angle shots to show this character in power due to him being feared. We made sure our film has continuity and were smooth to watch in order for it to look more professional. We made sure we were filming in an area with little wind that would affect the sound. We also used props such as torches in order to make the film seem more realistic and used a costume for the mystery to make him look abnormal.

We used a white font to contrast with the dark background, we used visual conventions of a typical horror film as it is in a woods and a dark lighted area.

Editing

We have to edit various different thing in our film:
-Sound effects-purposes, sound effects are used to highlight moments on screen which cue the audience to laugh.
-Cutting some clips- cutting clips are important because they make the film flow together
-Exposer
-Background noises

We have to cut parts of different clips out as they are errors and things we don't need in them or take something out because it will look better without them in it.
We also have to add some music in the background to make the film more creepy and more film like.
The clips and scenes need to flow good so the film doesn't look stuttered and jolty. If certain clips dont look right after another one, we may have to re-film it or choose another clip that does flow well.
Because we filmed in the dark we need to make certain shots (exposure) to make them brighter so we can see the characters and the scene we need to.
We need to add in sound effects some non-diagetic and some diagetic, for example leaves crunching and wind, this wasn't meant to happen but it made a good effect to the scene as it fitted well with the film as it is horror based. The Diagetic sounds we are adding in to our film are, exaggerating screaming and making sure sounds are not in the scene that we don't want. We may also add some core creepy sounds, like wolves, rips of paper, scratching, but we will have to see what sounds sound better in the film and fit well with what is happening in the scene at that time.

Things we need to do.

We have to do various different things:

-Blogs
-Editing
-Pre-filming

We have finished our filming and now thats left to do is the editing and finnish of our blogs.

I dont think this will take that long as we are all getting on with our own tasks and completing everything to our best standard and make sure we make the editing flows which will make the film look professional and realistic.

We have got many things to edit and we have to change and cut off many things in our recordings. This may take a lot of time but we are going to make sure we are going to complete it for the deadline and get the best grade on it we can. We all have to make sure we understand the tasks we have to do, so we aren't struggling as it will take longer. If we all understand what we are suppose to be doing we will do it our best and at our best potential.

We may have to re-film some clips as the wrong things have being filmed which wont make our film look very good, but by re-filming the clips we need to it will flow more and make the film look better.

Blogs, we need to make sure everyone has got the correct amount of blogs and got everything on the blog that needs to be and havent missed anything. We have to do the minimum of 25 blogs and some people havent got to that stage yet, so we need to help each other on blogs they can make so they get this amount of blogs.

Cast.

We had several different actors for out film:
-Kieran Locke
-Kieran Grocock
-Joe Brownson
-Jake Spurr

-These actors worked really well as they didn't make many bloopers and if they did, they tried again and succeeded.
-They also acted really well and looked in their character.
-Also none of them sounded like they was reading from a script.
-They all brought the props they needed and remembered to bring the camera.
-Also they all turned up on time with everything they needed. None of them backed out or refused to do anything.
-None of them forgot anything.
-Everyone was up for anything and gave idea's out on how to improve the film.
-They made the conversation flow and sound very realistic.

Over all, i believe they all worked really well and made the film look the best it could. They are all really upfront and confident which made the film look more realistic and not stuttering their sentences as that would of took up more of our time.

Directors (Emily and Chloe)

Director are the people who are in charge of filming the film and being in charge of the actors. They are the people who tell the casts where to go, what to do and improvement they can make to the film.
Directors role:
-Instruct cast
-Tell improvement
-Choose good shots
-Choose good camera angles
-Make sure the scene is good for the film
-Make sure the script is good.
-Make sure everthing look realistic

Me and chloe were chosen to be the directors as we have filmed a film in the past so we have experiance of filming and enjoy doing it as well. Me and Chloe did work well together as i filmed the house scene and the walking to the woods shots to show the audiance where the actors are heading to. Chloe then did the forest shots until the end. Me and Chloe also decided what shots look the best and where the camera would look better being placed, this is to make our film look our best and make sure the audiance can see the main characters in different shots. If someone didnt look good or the conversation didnt flow well, me and chloe told the improvement to the actors of what they could do to make it better and flow better which will make the film more realistic. I am happy with the way me and chloe worked together because this made filming easier and made it look professional. We both enjoyed filming as we like being in charge and helping the actors to make the film look better. We dd the role of an director very well, and did what we was suppose to do.

Improvements.

In my opinion a few improvement could have been made: (not many)

-We could have organised the meet up much easier so everyone knew what time and when and where to meet, this would have helped us as we would have had more time to practice the scenes and practice shots we was using in the film.

-We could of also got the props faster so the actors would get used to them and didnt have to struggle with them on the day. For example, the tent was found at last minute and this then caused the people putting up the tent taking a lot longer and struggling more as they wasnt used to it.

-The cameram could have being charged up before filming so the battery was full, this is so the camera doesnt die, which it was close to. This caused Chloe to pannic and make sure the last few shots was done in a quick time, but it got managed.

-Finally instead of travelling to a certain location we could of all decided on a location that was close to everyoe and was still as the one we filmed in anyway.
They aren't many improvements our group could have done because we all worked well together and the shots and filming went really well. We all got on with our role and everyone was clear on what they had to do. All our group is happy of how well we filmed and the shots that we did, we all think our film is going to come off well and be at a good standard.

-We could make our filming better by doing it in a decent weather condition, as we needed the darkness to film it correctly and accurately, On some scenes it was very dark and we couldn't make out the characters due to it. To improve this we will refilm the parts in which we beileve aren't good enough, to make sure they have enough potential and are up to a higher standard.

What Didnt Go Well.

Things that didnt go well.

-The time we chose to do our film was too early, this is because our film was needing to be filmed in the dark and it was too early for the dark so our cast had to wait around until it got dark enough.

-Because of the waiting, this caused the camera to nearly die, so at the end it could of been rushed, but we managed to complete it on time and worked well on not panicking.

-Also because our actors was all friendly with each other, it made the actors laugh and make a few mistakes, but not many, without them the film would have being done faster.

-Some of the actors didnt know the script off by heart so they had to improvise, this wasn't difficult for them, so it did flow really easy anyway.

Over all we didnt have many things that didn't go well, as we all worked well and kept focused on the film and the shots we was using. Also the actors was really well because they was keeping relaxed and making the conversation flow between them, this made it look even more realistic.

What Went Well.

Things that went well during our filming:

-everyone turned up on time and brought the correct costume and make-up they needed for their characters. This meant we didn't panic and have to rush around to find a costume suitable for them to wear.

-The location we chose was really good as we had a lot of choice where we could do the filming and where is would look the best. The place we chose was open and we had a alot of space around us.

-We all worked together really well, and was contributing on what shots would look better where, and we all decided on the shots together and added a few extra ones so we have a great choice of what the shots we are chosing to put into our film to make it look the best.

-Also we all contributed to the script, if we thought of something to put in it that would make it more realistic and entertaining we would add it.

-The weather stayed good for us and no rain. This made it much easier with the camera and the costumes as they werent getting wet and going down hill, which would of made te filming a lot harder for me and chloe.

-Finally we all picked a good day and time we filmed as everyone was available and the transport to get to the location was quick, so no-one had to worry.

List of Tricky shots

Throughout our film, Slender, We made use of several different shots to make our film realistic and like a real horror film. As we are aware that the more variety of shots, the better the film would be. We sat and discussed what shots we thought would be the most tricky to do, and the shots that would look best, After this we angled the camera in several different angles to see which one we actually thought looked the most effective and realistic. We took our time making sure the shots were correct and angled right.
The shots we used were:
- Pan shot
- Close up
- Extreme close up
- Long shot
- Shallow focus
- Zoom
- Crane shot
- Shot reverse shot.

We thought the trickest shot was the Shot reverse shot, as we had to keep moving the camera and setting it to the exact same angle as it was prior to filming. We wanted to use this shot as we thought it was the most effective when the actors were having a conversation, as when someone was talking we could see the other actors reaction to what they were saying, which we accomplished and thought was a success. Also we thought that the Pan shot and the Crane shot we also hard to achieve as for the Crane we had to reach a certain angle to lower the camera down and it was fairly hard without a steady balance of height to lower down from, However the Pan shot in our opinions was the most successful as it helped us follow the actors when they were walking to and from places and it allowed us the show their movement and actions at all time .
The easiest shots were the simple ones such as: Close up, Zoom, Extreme close up and long shot as they are the basic shots in which are used throughout any filming industry or general camera use.

Pictures of Pre-filming and during filming - filming day 1

These are our photos of day one filming, in which we chose to carry out during the day time, In this image We captured the actors setting up the tent ready to film, we took some shots of them arguing on how they set the tent up.
This is an image of them setting the tent up. it took around fourty five minutes to set the tent up properly. We were filming for a total of five hours

This is a photo of the first scene we filmed, outside Kierans house.

Location pictures

This is our second location, The Dearne in Monk Bretton. We chose to film here as its local to our first location, and it is exactly how we imagined it would look in our film. It looks spooky and has the creepy effect of what we want in our film. The space at the front of the photo is where we based the tent and filmed the whole second scene. It worked out very well and we enjoyed filming here. It was a successful filming session.

This is our first location. This is where we filmed our first scene, we chose to film this scene of Slender here because it was very local to our other scenes, and this would have the most effect on the viewer as we could film the actors walking down to the woods in which they were going to camp for Slender to attack.

Costume research

Costumes are an important aspect of the characters main perception and role within a film. Without the costumes the audiences wouldn't be able to recognize the bad  characters from the good. As stylists from all types of screened things ranging from televisions to films of all different genres create a view in which helps the audience identify who the characters are if they see them anywhere else but the film, for example on posters etc. Costumes not only are used to identify whos which role but they are also a vitally important part in films genres such as Horror, Fairy tales and Sci fi, as they are all a variety of different types of film.

Our film is a Horror based genre, Therefore I believe costume is the most vital part of the characters. We must make it essential that all characters look how they are intended to and are carrying out a persistent role in which matches the character description.

The main costume we have is for the Evil character, 'Slender' Who in which wears a Black suit with a White shirt and Black tie, with this he wears a White facial mask in which covers the whole of his face, Therefore no skin will be showing as he will wear gloves also. We also have the other three boy characters in the film who in which are all dressing casual, as said in their character profiles they will wear jeans, t-shirt and a jacket, simple yet effective as any teenagers watching our film will relate to their costumes as we are keeping them subtle and similar to what any normal boy would wear in general.

Examples of costumes:

Prop research

Props are another vital part of a characters role within any film, but are more essential in Horror films. This is because the majority of props used are normally lethal murder weapons or tools. In horror films such as: Saw, Scream, and Final destination murder weapons are used as props. These weapons usually include: Knives, Guns, Axes, Poles, Daggers etc. Other props used in films or television program mes in general is for example: Mobile phones, Books or even food. Any object can be used as a prop.

In our film we are using:
-White A4 paper in which we are going to stick on a tree
-Tent, as the characters in our film are camping in the woods.
- A white mask, in which will cover the whole face of the demon character
- Mobile phones, as the police are called and characters use them in general as we are filming as though its an every day thing and Mobiles are used a lot by teenagers

EXAMPLES OF PROPS:

Makeup research

As our film is a horror based genre, makeup is an essential part. As horror films are very reliable on makeup, as it creates a vast majority of the final effect. For example, Fake blood is an important input to a film, as horror films usually include a lot of death, murder and torture, Blood is a vital aspect. This is because if someone in a horror film was cut and no blood was drawn, it wouldn't be as effective as an outcome. Another example of an important makeup source when in horror films would be for a vampire for example their makeup includes: White face powder, Red lips, Fangs, V line on their forehead, Red eyes etc. Makeup creates the whole image and the scary thought of all the characters in any film along side just horror.

Examples of makeup:

Our film:
Our film is going to have subtle makeup used, as our genre of horror is a physiological horror in which isn't as dependent on makeup as others. We are trying to create the effect that it is realistic and true. Therefore the makeup will be every day. We will be including fake blood in which will be used when characters are attacked or injured.

Colour Scheme

Our main colours we are using in our film are black and white. This is because we want our colours to be dark and spooky as our film is a horror.
Also it would look must scarier have a dark and a bright colour contrasting togeth. Because we are filming in the dark we need the white mask so it can be seen in the dark and looks more interesting and stands out more.
People will then realise that the character is the bad guy because it stands oiut more than everyone else and the camera can see him in the background which will scare the people watching more.
Also in the title sequence if we use the colours of black and white it is clear to the audience that our film is a horror and many people are interested in horror films.

This is a good image, as we are in a woods and the colour scheme is black and white. Just by this image it looks creepy and weird because it is scary and dark colours being used.

How shots could be used in our film.

Close ups- We can use close ups alot in our film, these are regularly used in horrors to show reactions, usually fear or shock, this can be used in our film to do the exact same, when the shock hits the characters and they realise they are not alone, close ups can be used alot and we have incorperated these into our film numerous times.

Deep focus- We have used this shot very well in our film in my opinion, we have used it to reveal the scary character when he is first seen, we believed this would be a good idea as it is a sudden realisation and shows the audience the figure but not the characters contained in the film, they are still oblivious but the audeince knows, so creates anticipation of what will happen throughout the length of the film.

Shallow focus- We have used this immediately before our deep focus shot, we have a focus switch, in the shallow focus shot the audience can see a strange figure behind the character but can see not characteristics or what the actual figure is, we then use a focus switch to reveal the identity and accompanied by a sound, can be known to be the character that the other characters fear.

Cost

We are wanting to spend a minimal price.

We are only buying a few items and props for our film.

White mask, this will only cost upto £3
which is a reasonable price and it stays
 at a minimal cost.

-Tent, This is used as we are going to be camping in the film, this will cost at a minimal price about: £20 quid. This is if we have to buy one, because one of us may have a tent at home we can use. This is the most expensive thing we will have to buy.

-black and white suit: This is the bad guy in the film that will be needing a suit, This will only cost about £10 at a cheep shop e.g primark. The charactor playing the bad guy may already have suit of their own they can use, or the other actors may have one he can lend.

Possible Viral Marketing

Our possible cross promotion for our film will be creating a facebook group, twitter account, my space account, Apps on iphones or apple products, Screen-savers of Slender or any other characters, Xbox branding, Youtube clips of all the scenes, or bloopers we have used, wallpapers, theme tunes of the opening scene, background music etc. We can't give out toys in happy meals of Slender as our film is an age restriction of 15 years, therefore the characters may not be suitable for children of young ages and may cause some upset.

We will sell our merchandise our products such as:DVDS and blue ray  adverts, Trailers, Websites of the official Slender and it will have competitions, Sneak peaks, Games, Videos, Quizzes, Clothing products and mugs available to buy.

Role of directors.

Me and Chloe Phillips are the directors of this film.

It is important that me and Chloe are always on tasks and know what camera shots we are using for which scene. This is because if we do the wrong shot you may miss out on the expressions or image the audience is suppose to see.

Also we have to be strict with the actors if they keep laughing or doing something wrong, this is because if we dont tell them to stop they may carry on and it will take us even longer to make the film.

We will also have to make sure all the props are correct and in place so they can be seen, make sure the zoom is what we are wanting it to be, and make sure everyone is stood in the right place during the scene. Also me and Chloe have filmed other film in the past so we do have experiance therefore it won't take that long for us to film as we are already used to the camera and how to use it.

Me and Chloe are also in charge of how much is being spent, so we can have the lowest budget possible. In our film we don't really need many props so this is already sorted out.

We also worked out the location which would be best for the filming and we have completed the discussion about that as well. Finally me and Chloe have to bare in mind the film has to be interesting and can't be boring as other people are watching the film and we don't want to bore them whilst watching the film.

Why the horror genre suits us

We chose to do our film based on a horror genre for a number of reasons, we all agreed that this was a genre we both liked and were interested in, immediately we had ideas flowing of possible characters, locations, props and sounds, we all wrote a storyline for a film we would like to create and thought was possible to film. We all then looked at each others storyline and chose one which we all thought we would be able to film and was interesting and would attract an audience. We knew a wide range of basic factors that would be associated with the horror genre such as dark rooms, eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery sounds and scary characters, we tried to put as many of these factors into our film  as we could without going over the top, we made our destination in a dark woods which would usually be associated with a horror genre, we also used shocks in scenes which are key in a horror in order to attract an audience. We believe that other genres such as comedy may be too hard to film as humour can differ in different places so may not be successful. But fear is alive everywhere and can be related to by everyone so can appeal to a much larger audience and be less likely to be of an aquired taste.

Sound effects and special effects

In our film we are going to use some very subtle yet effective sound effects. We have come to the conclusion that the majority of our sound effects are going to be non dyajectic sound (Sound from outside the scene) This is because all the background music and sounds will be natural sounds of the woods and etc, for example: The wind, Leaves blowing, Birds, Exterior traffic noise etc.The versimillitude sound in our film will also be a vital and important aspect to out final film. When we are editting we will use ambient sound, to set the mood and create atmosphere to match the storyline. We won't have a voice over in our film either. All the accents will be typical Barnsley accents, to get the best out of the acting we will asure that the actors ajust their voices to match the scene and to make the viewer aware of the moods. We will have a strong use of the silence, as the silence will create the atmosphere of gloom, and it will help slowly build the tension when the boys go missing. The contrapuntal sound will be the supposed invisible sound in which the audience is not meant to hear

We will use some special effects when editting to get the best resulting film. We have decided to use editting effects such as Rhythmic editting, in which is the length of the shot, how long it is on screen for and the relating of the editting to the person within it. We are going to use Cross cutting in which showing two situations. Spartial editting is also a form of editting we will use as it creates spaces and how it relates one to another. 180 degree eyeline match is also a strong aspect we are going to use within the editting time we have. Temporal editting is the form of editting in which relates time, overlapping and it lasts longer on screen than what they do in reality, it is also a good creation of tension.Eliptial editting cuts down the time and Jump cuts deliberately miss out bits of the film that are boring and dull.

We will use all of the above techniques as we are aiming for a overall film.

Spoofs and Bloopers

There are many different spoofs and bloopers in which have been created, A spoof is a remake of an original film but making it funny or creating a silly affect to it.

EXAMPLES:
  • Epic Movie
    Wrong
They are are all remarks of original films in which have been made to be funny
  • Scary Movie
    Wrong
  • Meet the Spartans
    Wrong

    Wrong
  • Superhero Movie
    Wrong
  • Spaceballs
    Wrong
  • Young Frankenstein
    Wrong
  • Hot Shots!
  • Music

We will use horror music in our film in which we could help build the tension and create a scary and light atmosphere. we will use it in the woods, and as a light background sound when walking.
We will use several aspects of dyagetic sound and non-diagetic sound. This includes noises such as: The wind blowing the trees, leaves flying around, Birds in background, foot steps, the paper on the tree blowing in the wind etc.

I have researched into several different music genres used within horror films some included:

Zombi/Dawn Of The Dead Incidental Music -
The Lost Boys - Thomas Newman/Various
    Eraserhead - Alan Splet
Exorcist - Mike Oldfield/The National Philharmonic
Carnival Of Souls - Gene Moore
    H.P. Lovecraft’s Re-animator - Richard Band
    The Shining - Stanley Kubrick/Wendy Carlos/Rachel Elkind -
    Halloween - John Carpenter

Ours will include Eary sounds, simple yet effective sounds in which affect the audience and make them jump we will have music that gets louder and faster as the boys are running away from Slender.

    Backup plan

    Variables:
Weather: If the weather has an unexpected change, to rain/snow etc,  we will have to film inside. As a backup option although it won't be the ideal idea for our actual plan of the film, it will also be a success as it will create a physcological horror story, as it will be a mix between story ideas of my own and kieran lockes. As my story was based within a house. Either way no matter what happens with the weather throughout our filming we will make sure our film is up to scratch and standard.

Camera: If we suffer with any camera  faults or issues throughout filming we will have to as a last resort use our cameras on our phones or use one from home. If we have time we could get another camera from the Media department and re-film our section in which the camera broke down within, However this will cost time and effort to change about the cameras. So to prevent this we will make sure our camera is ready to work and is completely charged and unlikely to breakdown or stop working throughout the filming.

Locations: If our locations aren't up to scratch and they don't look right, or the area is in use. We will have to relocate and find another place in which is suitable to film what we need to film in a woods or a lonely forrest. We have chosen the back up area to be in Pogmoore, as their are plenty of woods and local areas to film in, but will also look good in the darkness, in which is the weather condition we would like to get the best effect from when filming.

Actors: If the actors don't up or drop out at last minute we have a back up option of Callum Headon, and some girls from my friendship group as a very last option. The film is based on boys however, therefore it is vital that all our actors turn up.

    Bloopers

These are some things that have gone wrong in different films, so we have bared them in mind and going to avoid them from happening to us. We will all be serious and dedicated to do our best.

Factual error: In the scene where a boy runs on the streets of Moscow, he passes by the famous Moscow landmarks: St Basil's cathedral, Moscow State University, Big Stone Bridge etc. In reality it would have taken him a good four or five hour run to do that.

    Contingency

Back up plan if something goes wrong during filming:

    Actors/Casy:

If we lose out on a actor we have another one just in case, Callum Headen, he is also really confident and he is also interested in horror films so he would try his best and turn up to filming. He will turn up because he is realiable and rarely lets people down as our casts know him really well.

    Scene:

If the woods is really busy and there is loads of people walking past our filming space and interupting us whilst filming, we have chosen a different place where to film which is still really quiet and easy to get to.

    Camera shots:

if there are any camera shots that we are struggling with whilst filming, we have thought about other shots we could use, that may be easier but film the things we are wanting to. Also we are wanting the shots to edit really easy and if we feel that it wont do so, we have also thought about the shots that would fit together well.
    PHYSOC=LOGICAL SUPERNATURAL
    HISTORY OF THEM
    CONVENTIONS OF PHYCOLOGICAL HOORRA

As a group we have decided to prepare and film a horror film, we have made it a physcological/supernatural horror, we chose to do this due to the fact the phycological films are more realistic and beilevable. So we thought that by creating and preparing a film in which will be beilevable.
A physcological horror film are movies that rely more on messing with your mind than on gore and violence. I think they are more scary because they often deal with things that could actually happen, or they tap into basic human fears. As a Supernatural horror film includes: ghosts, wolves, demons, witches etc. These are more about scaring the audience by using things that are scary, where as phsycological films use things that occur in real life like mental illnesses.

    History of supernatural films:

    • Topper Returns - 1941the late 30s Topper (1937), with Cary Grant and Constance Bennett as George and Marion Kerby, a mischievous ghostly couple who, after a car accident, bedevil stuffy banker Cosmo Topper (Roland Young) (with a nagging wife (Billie Burke)) into having a new zest for life; the ghosts are invisible to everyone but Topper; followed by two sequels to complete the Hal Roach Studios trilogy (Topper Takes a Trip (1939) and Topper Returns (1941)), a TV series starring Leo G. Carroll, and a television movie in 1979
    • the classic fantasy romantic comedy Here Comes Mr. Jordan (1941), a Best Picture Oscar nominee with Robert Montgomery as soprano saxophone-playing, champion boxer Joe Pendleton who is killed in a fighter plane crash, but in Heaven is told there's been a mix-up and he has shown up 50 years before his time, due to an error by an inexperienced and scatterbrained heavenly messenger (Edward Everett Horton); celestial bookkeeper Mr. Jordan (Claude Rains) sends him back to Earth, where his body has already been cremated, so he must inhabit the body of a soon-to-be murdered millionaire crook; the film was remade twice - as a semi-sequel musical Down to Earth (1947) with Rita Hayworth, and most recently inspiring Warren Beatty's updated Heaven Can Wait (1978)with the sport changed to pro football (Joe Pendleton's position was quarterback for the LA Rams) - this was the third teaming of Beatty with Julie Christie (following their appearances in McCabe & Mrs. Miller (1971) and Shampoo (1975))

    • Ernst Lubitsch's witty, Technicolor fantasy/comedy Heaven Can Wait (1943), the director's first film in color; about a recently-deceased former lothario (Don Ameche) who recounts his sexual philandering life history in Hell to the Devil - His Excellency (Laird Creger)
    • Noel Coward's and David Lean's British fantasy/supernatural comedy farce Blithe Spirit (1945) with an innovative use of color cinematography to accentuate the ghosts; about the eccentric, mischievous ghost (Kay Hammond) of a novelist's (Rex Harrison) 1st wife who attempts to break up his 2nd marriage to a strait-laced woman (Constance Cummings), and the efforts of a medium (Margaret Rutherford) to exorcise the offending spirit

    • The Ghost and Mrs. Muir - 1947the much-loved, all-time Christmas classic  It's A Wonderful Life (1946), with guardian angel Clarence (Henry Travers) who convinces a despairing, small-town good man/bank manager (James Stewart) to refrain from suicide by showing him how wretched the town would have been without him
    • the sentimental angel tale The Bishop's Wife (1947) with an overworked and harrassed bishop (David Niven), his neglected wife (Loretta Young), and an angelic suave stranger (Cary Grant) who helps the bishop raise money for a new church; remade in director Penny Marshall's The Preacher's Wife (1996)
