We will use horror music in our film in which we could help build the tension and create a scary and light atmosphere. we will use it in the woods, and as a light background sound when walking.
We will use several aspects of dyagetic sound and non-diagetic sound. This includes noises such as: The wind blowing the trees, leaves flying around, Birds in background, foot steps, the paper on the tree blowing in the wind etc.
I have researched into several different music genres used within horror films some included:
Zombi/Dawn Of The Dead Incidental Music -
The Lost Boys - Thomas Newman/Various
Eraserhead - Alan Splet
Exorcist - Mike Oldfield/The National Philharmonic
Carnival Of Souls - Gene Moore
H.P. Lovecraft’s Re-animator - Richard Band
The Shining - Stanley Kubrick/Wendy Carlos/Rachel Elkind -
Halloween - John Carpenter
Ours will include Eary sounds, simple yet effective sounds in which affect the audience and make them jump we will have music that gets louder and faster as the boys are running away from Slender.
