Research into title sequences.

Cabin in the woods:

I researched into cabin and the woods and watched the title sequence of this film and i noticed several different insinuations to the story, There are several hints that death will be part of this film for a viewer who is new to seeing this film. I watched closely at the different images appearing in the blood. The title sequence is following blood around.

Mise en scene:
-Dripping red blood, is something I noticed in this short sequence of the film, the title sequence is just following the blood around, as it drips from place to place, At least it looks like blood, and has small egyiptian pictures within it, this could show the audience that the film is based on history of egyptians or some sort of witchcraft history of people dying and being tortured. The images are insinuating death, and that the film is about death or murder.

Sound:
-The music throughout the title sequence is very creepy and tension building, it ends with a bang and it goes straight into the film, the music could possibly be jumpy and make the audience jump due to the bang used in the ending.

Lighting:
The lighting is a main aspect of this film track as it shows Red and Black colours mainly, and both colours are strong and simple, insinuating death or murder. Further on throughout the film sequence fire was introduced, in my opinion Fire represents danger or hell. The lighting is yellow creating the effect that fire is surrounding the images. The lighting is dark and mysterious adding a unknown creepy effect to the upcoming film making the audience unaware and creating anxiety for what they are about to see.

Cinematography:
The shots were rapidly changed to create a fast and slow effect, and there was a soft focus of the camera also involved in the transaction. This creates an uncomfortable feeling for the audience as they become aware of what is about to happen all due to camera effects.

Editting:
The camera is on a track shot in which it is following the blood, as it drips around the black background, There is a lot of blood in which the camera is showing, the blood is being followed by the viewer as the camera is creating that shot. There are images placed into the blood to create a deathly effect.
This is a shot of the fire That was in the title sequence, the blood had turned into fire, hinting that death is on the horizion. In the image shows the colours:Black, Red, Yellow and Orange. The directors name appears also on this shot in red, However the directors name is bigger than the other font.


This is an image of the blood shots that were shown, in the blood shot is an image of an egyiptian being created, the blood is dripping and looks to have only just left a corpse. The blood looks fresh and looks to be telling a story of torture and death from an ancient history.

This shot shows an image of torture shown in the blood dripping and black background, it shows a historic figures almost stretching a body or torturing someone, it looks to be from a historic book or story behind it.
